Ricardo A. López has been studying the U.S. Hispanic and Puerto Rico
markets for over 20 years. He is often quoted as a Hispanic market
expert in business and consumer publications and is a noted public
speaker.
Mr. López became interested in marketing research while working at his
father’s advertising agency while he was still in high school in Puerto
Rico. He went on to study Marketing and Mass Communications at King’s
College in Pennsylvania and received both a BS and a BA degree. He also
received an MBA in Marketing Research from Syracuse University.
Before starting his own marketing research company in 1988, Mr López
worked for NFO Research and for the government of Spain at the Spanish
Trade Commission in New York City. Today, his company, Hispanic Research
Inc., specializes exclusively in Hispanic marketing research &
consulting.
Mr López understands very well the Latino community. He has a very
diverse Latino background. He was born in Venezuela of Cuban parents and
moved to Puerto Rico at a very young age. He has family in Costa Rica,
in Spain, and in many U.S. cities. He also has closed ties to Guatemala,
having recently adopted two children from that beautiful country.
Mr. Lopez is a prominent leader in the marketing research community. He
is past President of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA)
and is currently serving as chair of the new QRCA Latino chapter. Mr.
López is also an active member of the Marketing Research Association and
the American Marketing Association. Mr. López currently lives with his
wife and children in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
