Working
on a paper or school project?
We understand that many students use our website for information on the
U.S. Hispanic market. Here are some tips to help you complete your
research.
-
Make sure
you visit our Market Data area.
-
You may
quote any information provided in this website by either quoting its
source or, if a source is not provided, using Hispanic Research Inc. as
the source.
-
Visit the
U.S. Department of commerce website at
www.census.gov. This site is the ultimate source of
information on the market.
-
Continue
your search by searching for articles in research publications like
Quirks- where the archives are
fully searchable and available. Other publications like
American Demographics
are also an excellent source of data. Regional newspapers are also
great sources. Look for newspapers in mayor Hispanic markets like
the Miami Herald in
Miami or the LA Times in Los
Angeles.
-
Many
publications and newspapers charge you a fee for accessing the full
article in their archives. Unless you are sure that the article is
what you are looking for do not waste your money. Go to the school
library and ask- in many cases the libraries have free access to the
articles.
-
In your
library, see if they have a copy of a directory called the Hispanic
Media & Market Source that is published by
SRDS. This publication has a list of all Hispanic media
outlets including magazines, newspapers, radio stations, etc. It
also contains demographics on the U.S. Hispanic market.
-
Do your own
primary research by interviewing Hispanics that may give you personal
anecdotes that can spice up your report. You may interview
students, faculty, or local professionals. Interviewing
individuals that have knowledge of a subject is a valid form or research
that falls under what we call
qualitative
research.
Hispanic Research Inc. has made every effort to provide you with
information that you can use in your studies. We do not have the
resources to personally attend to and answer your questions. If you feel
that this website should include other information or is lacking in any
particular area we would love to hear your comments. Please use the
feedback form to let us know.
 |
Do you want to share your research with
others? We will be creating an area to post research
papers written by students that visit our site. If you are
interested, please upload your paper using the form below. If
selected, we will include your name and a note stating that you retain
the copyright on your material. All papers will be posted in Adobe
Acrobat format so that they cannot be altered. |
