The numbers don't lie....

While we have been studying and forecasting the growth of the U.S. Hispanic population since the late 1970s, it was not until the mid 1990s when marketers started to pay attention to this phenomenal increase in the U.S. Latino segment.

Forecasting models developed by this and other organizations predicted the Latino population to grow at an increasing rate that would exceed that of the general population and the black ethnic minority.  We at Hispanic Research Inc. were not surprised when the 2000 census revealed that the actual growth had dwarfed the predictions of most forecasting models.

The US Hispanic population surpasses the population of Canada

Hispanic are now the largest minority in the US- surpassing those who reported black or African American as their only race (34.7 million)

The Hispanic population increased by 57.9% since 1990.

Most of that increase (53%) was fueled by an increase in people of Mexican origin.

Between 1960 and 2000, the proportion of Hispanics in the US more than tripled from 3.9% to 12.5%.
